Help For Complex Maven Projects

maven.jpgI’ve been working with Maven a lot lately. One of my current projects involved migrating a complex Ant build to Maven using multiple modules, a ton of dependencies, and integration with a private remote repository hosted at Unfuddle (See: Subversion Help – Books, Plugins, and Hosting).

This book: Maven: The Definitive Guide has been indispensable throughout. In addition to the hardcopy, the folks at Sonatype are also maintaining an HTML and PDF version here.

Fun With Trend Analysis

Here’s two trend analysis examples from two different sources that I use regularly.

The first is based on job posting keywords which is useful to gauge how marketable your skill set is or how likely you are to find staff given the skills you require. Here’s a simple example. Go Java!

Cloud Computing at JavaOne 2008

Sun announced a partnership with Amazon to offer OpenSolaris as an operating system choice on their Amazon EC2 (Elastic Computing Cloud) offering.
