I was a hard core emacs user for a long time, then a pretty devout Eclipse user. Recently, taking the MyEclipse plunge has been worth every cent of the subscription fee. The handiest tool so far has been the Database Explorer (think: MySQL query browser, Toad, pgAdmin) and the Hibernate Reverse Engineering tool. See this video of both in action.
In my latest project these replace two other separate tools: pgAdmin and Middlegen. Keeping it simple is a mantra of mine, so I’m always happy when I can simplify my setup.
Chris;
I’m glad you’re finding MyEclipse to be so useful. Please feel free to share your thoughts not only on the blog, but also directly as well. I’d love to get your feedback “from the trenches.”
Best,
Jens
