Monotype (Bloom)

A first attempt at full-size prints. Inspired by blooming trees. Alcohol as a dispersant.

After the earthen Strata series, I wanted something more airy and floral — the trees in my neighborhood were just starting to flower. Larger paper was harder to control; the paint bled in places, like “blooms” in watercolor. The double meaning felt right.
