Monotype (Bubbles)

Pulled from the same baths as Drift — carrageenan size to thicken, alum wash to mordant, inks shaped with stylus work and alcohol. Where Drift follows currents, these sheets hold drops suspended in the size. Pairs are torn and printed in sequence as diptychs.

These came out of the Drift session but pulled away from the currents. The drops held their shape instead of streaming — rounder, lighter, more buoyant. Where the river sheets felt stormy, these felt playful, like bubbles rising through still water. I separated them out and let them keep that lightness.
